Earthcare Water Crystals, when incorporated into soil or potting mix, absorb and retain large quantities of water and water-soluble nutrients. Unlike most products that become hydrated, Water Crystals are able to release the absorbed water and nutrients, thereby allowing the plant to have water and nutrients available as needed

Water Crystals can be placed directly into the planting hole or incorporated into the backfill surrounding the root ball and under turf
Application rates
Tree Planting - 5 grams per 5 litres of backfill mixed through loose soil
Garden Beds - 25 grams per square metre mixed through the soil
Pots & Containers - 10 grams per 10 litres of potting mix
Potting Mix - 750 grams per cubic metre of peat/bark based mix
Turf - 10-20 grams per square metre spread evenly over a prepared surface
Water Crystals are made of super absorbent anionic polyacrylamide that is insoluble in water. However, they have the ability to absorb up to 500 times their weight in water with 95% of this water and nutrient being readily released again for the plant to take up as needed. The crystals rehydrate with any rain or irrigation and remain effective for up to 5 years
